Sell Your Wines

Cellar Evaluation

We want to purchase your wines

Collectors and enthusiasts should always turn to AWC Fine Wine as the first option for selling their wines. The company’s client base includes some of the world’s most sophisticated consumers, and there are connoisseurs amongst them that are actively searching for specific, fine, and rare wines.

Selling to AWC Fine Wine

Working with AWC’s dedicated purchasing team is faster, simpler, and often more lucrative than other  channels. Our buying team can offer you one of three options to any potential seller: provide an initial evaluation, to take the wines as an outright purchase, or to broker the wines on the client’s behalf.

Selling creates the opportunity to clear out cellar space for the arrival of new selections, to reinvest in younger vintages, or to capitalise on gains made from earlier purchases.

AWC's international discerning clientele means that the company is just as interested in massive cellars as it is in smaller verticals and individual cases. All suitable wines will be purchased in a swift and seamless manner.

Quality & Provenance

For any prospective purchase, it is important that the stock is in complete, unbroken cases, has been kept in professional storage and is in impeccable condition. This means good labels, intact capsules and high fill levels.

AWC Fine Wine also requires a full description of each wine:

  • Name and vintage
  • Where the wine has been stored
  • The provenance of the wine, including details of any professional authentication
  • The condition of the wine (labels, capsules, fill levels)

If the above information is not supplied, we may not be able to respond to your enquiry with a quote.

Please note that a minimum of 5 cases to sell will be considered.

For large cellars and collections, please contact our Purchasing team on +44 (0) 20 3219 5588.

Contract Options

There are several contract options available when AWC purchases wines. With an outright sale, AWC takes possession of your wines up front, so this is the quickest way for you to receive payment.

Alternatively, selling the wines on consignment is a smart option if there is no time constraint. Part of the advantage of consignment sales is that these agreements generally result in higher, pre-purchase valuations. In a consignment arrangement AWC has exclusive sale rights for a specific time period but you continue to own the stock until AWC secures a sale.
