The twin estate of Château Grand-Puy-Ducasse, this solid, traditionally Pauillac property sits on a bed of impressively rich, pebble-strewn soil. Intense, polished and elegant wines which are often great value.
Bordering Saint-Estèphe to the north and Saint-Julien to the south, Pauillac boasts three of the five Left Bank Premier Grand Cru Classé (also known as First Growth) estates, including Châteaux Lafite-Rothschild, Mouton Rothschild and Latour. Gravel-rich vineyards to the northwest and southeast of the town allow the roots of the vines to reach a greater depth than anywhere else in the Médoc, providing impeccable fruit which results in concentrated and complex wines.
