Here the equally expressive and bright nose is very pinot in character with elegant, cool and airy aromas that introduce supple, round and lightly mineral-infused flavours that are so fine that this could easily be enjoyed now. This is not quite as complex as the Nuits-Saint-Georges but it's just as persistent and markedly finer.
As one of Burgundy's most respected winemakers, Robert Arnoux was regarded for his ability to take new technologies and combine them with the region's historic traditions. In concert with the superior location of his vines (many parcels sit directly adjacent to those of Domaine de la Romanée–Conti), the domaine's wines have always been outstanding, with extraordinary elegance, power, and charm.
