Château Figeac

One of the most outstanding estates in Saint-Émilion, it has been known to produce some noteworthy wines. It could be described as the most Médoc-like in Saint-Émilion with its high use of Cabernet and the vineyards gravel topsoil over a flinty, iron-rich subsoil.

Saint-Émilion

Of all the Bordeaux appellations, Saint-Émilion has the greatest diversity of terroir. However, the majority of the vineyards are planted on soils with a high percentage of clay. This favours the growth of Merlot, which is then usually blended with Cabernet Franc instead of Cabernet Sauvignon, as it is on the Left Bank. Generous, flattering wines are produced here, providing accessible, often earlier-drinking selections.
