Domaine Leroy

Lalou Bize-Leroy is the well-known figure behind Domaine Leroy, having owned and maintained the property since the mid 1990’s. The Domaine has a total of 22 hectares of vineyards ranging from Grand Cru to Villages classification in both the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. Starting with Madame Leroy’s purchase of 12ha of Vosne-Romanée vineyard that belonged to Charles Noëllat in 1988, she added a further 2.5ha of Gevrey-Chambertin, purchased from Philippe Rémy in Gevrey-Chambertin in 1989. Madame Leroy is also the sole owner of Domaine d’Auvenay in Saint-Romain which has a total of 3.88 hectares.

An oft-asked questioned is the distinction between Maison Leroy and Domaine Leroy – the former is the family’s negociant business, which was established in 1868 and specialises in releasing aged wines onto the market.  The latter is the the winery established by Madame Leroy, as specified above.
